Is The Tower a good card to get as intentions?

Upright, yes — The Tower as intentions is read as an honest, workable signal about what someone means to do. The lightning that tells the truth in this position rewards directness: name what the card describes and it becomes something you can work with. Reversed, treat it as a draft rather than a verdict and give the situation a fortnight before re-reading.

The Tower as Intentions — Tarot Meaning

Major Arcana · The Tower · Keywords: Change, Upheaval, Chaos, Awakening

undefined

There is a reason readers ask what The Tower means as intentions more than almost any other framing: the direction of the will is where readings get personal. The lightning that tells the truth — that is what this card brings to the position.

What The Tower means as intentions

Think of the direction of the will as the frame and The Tower as the picture. The frame asks about what someone means to do; the picture shows the lightning that tells the truth — Sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation, awakening. Put them together and the upright meaning is: what someone means to do is currently characterised by change, upheaval, chaos, awakening, and the card endorses that state rather than warning against it.

Numerologically and elementally, The Tower speaks of upheaval with Fire's signature. In practical terms: expect the answer to behave the way Fire behaves — and plan accordingly. Tarot's elements are not decoration; they are instructions about pace and texture.

The Tower reversed as intentions

Do not read the reversal as the opposite of the upright meaning; read it as the same meaning under pressure. The Tower reversed as intentions keeps the lightning that tells the truth on the table but moves it somewhere harder to work with — underground, where what someone means to do gets answered by avoidance instead of honesty. Naming the avoidance is usually the whole work.
