Is Justice a good card to get as intentions?

Upright, yes — Justice as intentions is read as an honest, workable signal about what someone means to do. The scales that notice everything in this position rewards directness: name what the card describes and it becomes something you can work with. Reversed, treat it as a draft rather than a verdict and give the situation a fortnight before re-reading.

Justice as Intentions — Tarot Meaning

Major Arcana · Justice · Keywords: Justice, Fairness, Truth, Law

undefined

If Justice has come up as intentions in your spread, the cards are answering what someone means to do with the scales that notice everything. This page unpacks that answer — upright, reversed, and in plain language.

What Justice means as intentions

Read as intentions, Justice is at its most literal. Forget cleverness: the scales that notice everything applied to what someone means to do means what it says. The keywords justice, fairness, truth, law are not metaphors here — they are the report. When this card is upright in this position, trust the surface reading first; depth is for the surrounding cards.

There is a second layer worth noting. Justice carries Libra and Air correspondences, and the scales that notice everything under those influences suggests the situation has momentum, not just meaning. Cards do not only describe states; they describe directions. The direction here is the one truth takes when it is honoured rather than resisted.

Justice reversed as intentions

The reversed intentions position asks for self-honesty more than technique. Justice inverted suggests the scales that notice everything is present but unacknowledged — justice, fairness, truth, law operating without your permission. The card is not warning you about the world here; it is reporting on the interior. Sit with that before consulting another spread.

What does this person actually want — not what they say they want?
What would their actions look like if these intentions were honest?
Am I asking about their intentions to avoid examining my own?
