The Sun as Intentions — Tarot Meaning

Major Arcana · The Sun · Keywords: Positivity, Success, Vitality, Joy

undefined

When The Sun appears as intentions, the reading narrows to what someone means to do. The day without apology is the territory — and in this position, that territory answers a specific question rather than a general one.

What The Sun means as intentions

The intentions position asks a pointed question, and The Sun answers in its own idiom: the day without apology. Upright, the idiom is fluent — positivity, success, vitality, joy — which means what someone means to do is currently clear, available, and working in your favour. This is one of the cleaner placements for this card.

One more consideration: as intentions, The Sun often describes something the questioner already senses. the day without apology is rarely news; it is confirmation. If this page feels like it is telling you what you knew, that is the card doing its job — the value is in the naming, which is what makes action possible.

The Sun reversed as intentions

When this card reverses as intentions, timing is often the issue. The Sun's the day without apology may be something that was true, or will be true, but is not cleanly true now — positivity, success, vitality, joy as a season rather than a day. Give it a fortnight before deciding the reading was wrong; reversals are frequently early rather than false.
